BREAD CULTURE

The Kozma Trichkov Secondary School works on an international educational project Comenius from the 2006/2007 school year with partners from Spain, Italy and Turkey on the theme ". BREAD CULTURE:.

The project contributes to improving the quality of the students’  work in the course of mutual European education, international cooperation between schools and language learning, deepening intercultural understanding.

Implementation of the project includes: research on types of bread, making bread and food culture, traditions associated with the bread, getting acquainted with works of art on the above theme, producing a multilingual glossary of language partners and English on popular vocabulary on the theme "Bread and bakery products and a collection of recipes” for the traditional local bakery processes.
The project enables participants to share experiences, expand common culture and teach them to understand and respect other cultures.

Early in May  The Kozma Trichkov Secondary  was a host of four-part-meeting and welcomed guests from Italy, Spain and Turkey – our copartners.
That international educational project is within Comenius programme , funded by the of Human Resource Centre of the European Union.
At the entrance of the school guests put morsel of bread in sal / our “sharena sol”/ and tasted the bread according to our famous Bulgarian hospitality. Just this ritual strongly impressed them. They were delighted with the nature of Vratsa -  that  "quiet and comfortable" city.

There were a lot of events accompanying their stay due to the implementing of the Project plan, also they were on an excursion to our famous cave “Ledenika” , outstanding Belogradcbik Rocks and Klisura Monastery.

Study visit in Denmark

Mrs Neli Borcheva – the Principal  of The Kozma Trichkov Secondary School-Vratza, participated in an international study visit in the Danish town of Ebeltoft from 7th  to 13th  March, together with representatives from England, Finland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Germany. The visit was entitled" Measures to prevent early school leaving.
The role of the school in preparing young people for further education and socialisation. "

The visit was organized by the CEDEFOP - European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training under the programme "Lifelong Learning".

When back home Mrs Borcheva said:“Established useful contacts with the participants in the visit is the first step towards future projects and partnerships. I am very impressed by the Danish hospitality and kindness. "

The program included  sharing experiences and practices also  visits to different types of schools and centres, including boarding ones where participants were acquainted with the school teams and the way of work with children and young people with different  early school leaving risk degrees.
During the visit it was stressed upon that all participating countries are to prevent the problem of early school leaving. Socialisation of young people is important and solving that matter  is a real challenge. It was also argued that students dropped out of school for various reasons, but they are similar and typical for each country and their solution depends on the socio-economic conditions, educational policies, traditions, etc
Accents in working with such children are fully supported, promoting positive relationships and motivate individual work focusing on specific and specific needs of each child, vocational training and building real life skills. The qualifications and motivation of staff in various schools also establish relationships with students, based on mutual trust, are of great importance here. Positive relationships settled and furthermore

going on with continuity in the course of  staff work will allow  relationships to be maintained and  developed.
